CLINICAL TRIALS

Veteran community members participate in human subject research programs conducted by James A. Haley VA Hospital researchers. These studies have been approved by an Institutional Review Board and the local VA Research and Development Committee, to ensure that patient rights, safety, and welfare will be protected. All Investigators and study personnel are certified in the protection of human subjects in research studies.

TVAREF Clinical Trials Mission

  • Provide the highest quality and professional environment for research studies

  • Promote and enforce human research subject’s protection

  • Centralize research services to ensure consistency in the conduct of research studies

  • Serve as a liaison between the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Research & Development (R&D) Committee

  • Provide and oversee a Quality Improvement/Assurance Program

  • Function as a resource for research staff
